PLLA COG Threads for Facial Lifting and Skin Rejuvenation

Deenora PLLA COG Thread is an absorbable aesthetic thread made with PLLA, or poly-L-lactic acid, and designed with 360° spiral barbs. It is intended for professional facial lifting, skin tightening, contour support and collagen-related skin rejuvenation treatments.

The unique feature of this thread is the combination of PLLA material and COG structure.

PLLA gives the thread a different material profile from PDO and PCL threads. It is a biodegradable material used in absorbable aesthetic products and is associated with collagen-support treatments as the thread gradually breaks down in the body.

The COG structure creates a defined surface with spiral barbs around the thread. Unlike a smooth thread, it is designed to engage with tissue and provide mechanical support during professional placement. This makes PLLA COG threads suitable for treatment plans that focus on facial laxity, reduced contour definition and visible signs of skin aging.

3D, 4D and 6D COG Threads

The 3D, 4D and 6D options use different barb configurations:

COG 3D uses a three-direction structure for balanced tissue support.
COG 4D uses a four-direction structure for a broader anchoring pattern.
COG 6D uses a six-direction structure for a more multidirectional design.

These numbers describe the structure of the thread. They are not a simple quality ranking, so 6D is not automatically better than 4D or 3D. The suitable option depends on the treatment area, skin condition, facial structure and the result being discussed with the practitioner.

The range also includes Sharp Needle, L Cannula and W Cannula options, allowing different insertion formats to be considered for different professional treatment approaches.

A Natural Approach to Facial Contour and Skin Support

PLLA COG threads may be considered for customers concerned with mild facial laxity, less defined facial contours, fine lines or a tired-looking appearance.

The thread is designed to provide two types of support:

Immediate mechanical support from the structured COG profile;
Longer-term collagen-support potential associated with the PLLA material.

The purpose is not to create an artificial or over-corrected appearance. With an appropriate treatment plan, the aim is to support a more defined and refreshed facial appearance while maintaining natural-looking proportions.

Results vary from person to person. The outcome and duration depend on the selected thread design, treatment area, placement technique, skin condition and individual response. Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness or sensitivity may occur during recovery.

FAQ

What is a PLLA COG thread?
A PLLA COG thread is an absorbable aesthetic thread made from poly-L-lactic acid and designed with a structured cog profile. The 360° spiral barbs are intended to engage with tissue and provide mechanical support during professional placement.

What does PLLA do in aesthetic thread treatment?
PLLA is a biodegradable material used in absorbable aesthetic threads. It is associated with collagen-support treatments, while the COG structure provides the thread’s mechanical anchoring design. The final result depends on the exact product, treatment technique and individual response.

How is PLLA different from PDO and PCL?
PLLA, PDO and PCL are different absorbable material categories. They may have different material characteristics, degradation profiles and treatment considerations. PLLA COG threads should not be treated as interchangeable with PDO or PCL threads simply because the gauge or length looks similar.

What is the difference between 3D, 4D and 6D COG threads?
The 3D, 4D and 6D names describe different barb configurations. The product design represents three-direction, four-direction or six-direction tissue support. These numbers are not a simple quality ranking, so 6D is not automatically better than 4D or 3D.

What concerns may PLLA COG threads address?
They may be considered for mild facial laxity, reduced contour definition, fine lines and skin-tightening treatment plans. They are intended to support a professional aesthetic treatment, not to guarantee a specific lifting or volumizing result.

What is the difference between a Sharp Needle and a Cannula?
A Sharp Needle and a Cannula are different insertion formats. This collection includes Sharp Needle, L Cannula and W Cannula options. The practitioner selects the appropriate format according to the treatment technique, treatment area and product instructions.

How long do PLLA COG thread results last?
The result is temporary and does not last forever. There is no single duration for every PLLA COG model because results vary with the material, structure, placement technique, treatment area and individual response.

What can I expect after a PLLA COG thread treatment?
Temporary swelling, bruising, tenderness, tightness or sensitivity may occur after treatment. Recovery varies according to the number of threads, treatment area and insertion technique. The treating professional should provide specific aftercare instructions.

Are PLLA COG threads the same as dermal fillers?
No. PLLA COG threads are thread-based products with a structured physical profile. They are not dermal fillers and do not work in the same way as injectable filler products.

Are PLLA COG threads suitable for everyone?
No. They are not suitable for every person or every skin condition. A qualified medical professional should review the person’s health history, treatment goals, skin condition and any relevant contraindications before treatment.
